The essence of Mahamudra meditation is to access and understand our own mind at the deepest level, and then use that deepest level of mind to realize the way things actually exist. Even the introductory stages of Mahamudra meditation are extremely helpful for realizing the clarity of the mind, and for understanding through our own experience the relationship between our mind and the things it perceives.

This introductory retreat will introduce and guide us through the basic Mahamudra meditation on the clarity of the mind, and explain how to engage in this meditation in a way that will develop and increase our levels of meditative concentration.

Latta Nature Preserve forms a green peninsula extending into Mountain Island Lake and protects a natural heritage site and several endangered plants. During the breaks, enjoy yourself by exploring the scenic nature trails, relaxing in rockers with a book and coffee, and eating lunch in the picnic area which sits along the shores of the peaceful lake.
