“With effort it is not difficult to attain a mind that can remain for a short time on one object single-pointedly without distraction…Actual tranquil abiding is attained only by improving this mind.” - Joyful Path of Good Fortune, Geshe Kelsang Gyatso
Do you meditate regularly, or have you at least tried to meditate? Whenever we practice meditation, whether or not our meditation is clear, we are performing a virtuous mental action that is a cause of our future happiness and peace of mind. If we learn how to meditate skillfully, we can improve our concentration so that we remain undistracted for longer and longer, without losing quality in our meditations.
In this introductory teaching retreat, our Resident Teacher, Gen Norbu, will introduce the basics of how to get started with meditation, and how to progress in our practice. For those who are interested, the teachings from this retreat can be used to prepare for our Tranquil Abiding Retreat the weekend of May 19-21.
