Gen Kelsang Norden, a senior ordained teacher, was requested by Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso Rinpoche to teach modern Buddhism at Kadampa Meditation Center Georgia. Ordained as a Buddhist nun in 1994, Gen Norden has been teaching Buddhism and meditation in the US and the UK for nearly 30 years. We are very fortunate to have the opportunity to enjoy the precious dharma of modern Buddhism with such an experienced practitioner.

Within all of us lies a source of infinite bliss, clarity of wisdom, and compassion for others. With this blissful awareness we can uncover our true nature, destroy ignorance and suffering at its root, and swiftly become a source of inspiration and benefit for others.” - Clear Light of Bliss, Geshe Kelsang Gyatso

Over the two weeks of the International Summer Festival this year in England, Gen-la Khyenrab and Gen-la Jampa will give a transmission of the Mahamudra commentary, Clear Light of Bliss, by Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso Rinpoche. Clear Light of Bliss is a remarkable book that explains with exceptional clarity how through training in Mahamudra practices we can transform our very subtle mind into the clear light of bliss, the actual quick path to enlightenment. It includes the uncommon Mahamudra instructions that come from Je Tsongkhapa, with an additional explanation of other practices such as tummo meditation, which was Milarepa’s main practice.

In this weekend retreat at KMC North Carolina, Gen Norden will share with us the essential instructions from the Summer Festival teachings, and guide us in meditations on their meaning.
