About the event
“Happiness is a part of the mind that experiences inner peace, or peace of mind, so the real source of happiness must lie within the mind, not in external conditions.” - The New Eight Steps to Happiness, Geshe Kelsang Gyatso
Do you ever feel like something is missing? Whether we “have it all” or not, external things can’t make us happy unless our mind is peaceful. Without inner peace there is no real happiness at all. By practicing moral discipline we can create the causes of happiness. And all the happiness there is in this world arises from wishing others to be happy, which is love.
In these introductory meditation classes, Gen Norbu will introduce the basics of inner peace, moral discipline, and love, explaining why each one is essential for our happiness, and guiding us in practical meditations on them.
