Introduction to Mahamudra Meditation
“If you realize your own mind you will become a Buddha; you should not seek Buddhahood elsewhere.” - Buddha, quoted in The Oral Instructions of Mahamudra
The essence of Mahamudra meditation is to access and understand our own mind at the deepest level, and then use that deepest level of mind to realize the way things actually exist. Even the introductory stages of Mahamudra meditation are extremely helpful for realizing clarity of mind, and for understanding through our own experience the relationship between our mind and the things it perceives.
This introductory retreat will introduce and guide us through the basic Mahamudra meditation on clarity of mind, and explain how to engage in this meditation in a way that will develop and increase our levels of meditative concentration.
